Last weekend, the Spitting Pig South Yorkshire team loaded up the van, pointed it toward Doncaster Racecourse, and headed straight into one of the most feel-good environments you can possibly walk into – a wedding fair. Specifically, The UK Wedding Event, which is South Yorkshire’s biggest wedding show, and honestly? It did not disappoint.
If you’ve never been to one of these functions, picture this: over 65 vendors buzzing with energy, live music setting the mood and wall-to-wall couples who are genuinely excited about one of the biggest days of their lives. There’s a warmth to it that you just don’t get anywhere else. We’ve exhibited at a fair few of these now and the novelty hasn’t worn off one bit.
Representing us on the day were Chris and Kayleigh, our catering managers – and they absolutely smashed it. They arrived early, got everything set up and transformed our stand into something that was impossible to ignore. Gorgeous grazing platters, eye-catching dessert displays and enough food inspiration boards to make people instantly hungry – even those who’d only just eaten. And honestly, watching people’s reactions never gets old.
Once Chris and Kayleigh had people’s attention – and their taste buds sufficiently tempted – they talked them through what Spitting Pig South Yorkshire actually does, what we offer and why our approach to wedding catering is a little bit special. The conversations flowed, the interest was real and the feedback was brilliant.
Oh, and we threw in a little extra incentive too. Anyone who filled out an enquiry form on the day was entered into a draw to win £100 off their booking. Suffice to say, phones came flying out, forms were filled in at record speed and there was definitely a competitive streak in the air.
