Southern Flavours And Sweet Celebrations: Hog Roast New Edlington Feast At A Joint Christening

Hog Roast New EdlingtonThis past Saturday, Hog Roast New Edlington had the privilege of catering for a very special event: the joint christening after-party for cousins Amber and Willow. Born just months apart, these two little bundles of joy were celebrated in a beautiful ceremony, followed by a lively and heartwarming reception in their church’s event space.

The parents of Amber and Willow went above and beyond to create a charming and wholesome atmosphere for the occasion. The room was decorated with pink and white balloons, custom signs bearing the girls’ names, and even a doughnut wall that was an instant hit with the guests. A grazing table was also set up, brimming with pick-and-mix sweets, biscuits, and cupcakes—pure heaven for anyone with a sweet tooth!

When it came to the main meal, the families knew they wanted something special to match the joyful spirit of the day. That’s where Hog Roast New Edlington came in, serving up our Southern Slow Roast Menu for the 110 guests in attendance.

Hog Roast New EdlingtonOur catering managers, Chris and Kayleigh, had meticulously prepared the meats for the event, marinating them in our secret recipe rubs before slow-cooking them to perfection. The pulled minted lamb was tender and aromatic, a perfect match for the warm, summery weather. Our Louisiana-style sticky pork ribs were a crowd-pleaser, with just the right balance of smoky and sweet. And the BBQ pork butt? Slow-cooked to perfection, it was juicy, flavourful, and everything you’d want in a southern-style feast.

As for the non-meat-eating members of the group, we offered BBQ-pulled jackfruit rolls dressed in coleslaw – a delicious and hearty option that didn’t skimp on flavour! And, to complement the mains, we also served a trio of our special sauces, allowing guests to add an extra kick to their plates.

Accompanying the mains were a selection of bread rolls and wraps, perfect for crafting the ultimate BBQ sandwich. And no Southern feast would be complete without some classic sides! Hog Roast New Edlington laid out our Memphis-style coleslaw, creamy potato salad, and a medley of seasonal vegetables, ensuring there was something for everyone.

Hog Roast New Edlington was honoured to be part of Amber and Willow’s special day, and we’re thrilled that our Southern Slow Roast Menu was such a hit with guests of all ages. Here’s to many more celebrations filled with good food and great memories!
