If anyone knows how to show their staff a good time, it’s BAM Nuttall!
All year round, the staff at BAM Nuttall work tirelessly to deliver better and more sustainable infrastructure across the UK. Their hard work and innovation has delivered us some of the most impressive and useful structures in the country. From the Thames Tideway Tunnel and Ordsall Chord Bridge to the David Oluwale Bridge in Leeds, BAM Nuttall’s creations are an important fixture in today’s British society.
With that, we think you’ll agree that the legends behind these creations have more than earned a break. So, earlier this month, the BAM Nuttall North Region management team decided to organise a staff fun day/apprentice summer event, which Hog Roast York was proud to assist with.
This wasn’t our first time catering for BAM Nuttall, but it might be our favourite. The event was held at New Earswick Sports and Social Club on White Rose Avenue, which had more than enough space for all the guests, activities and Hog Roast York’s setup.
With 150 people to feed, our catering duo, Chris and Kayleigh made every second count when it came to food prep. They started by preparing a whole hog, scoring the skin, rubbing it with salt and leaving it to slow-roast over a low flame before turning their focus to the meat-free alternative and homemade applesauce and stuffing accompaniments that were served on the side.
We made sure there was more than enough food to go around and that everything was served bang on 1pm, as that was the clients chosen serving time.
Guests mingled, laughed and enjoyed our hog roast sandwiches in the sun. They also had a brilliant time letting their hair down and joining in the lawn games, chilling out to a summer playlist and testing their skills against the bucking bronco.
The event couldn’t have gone smoother, and we’ve since heard back from the clients who were so delighted with the standard of service and professionalism Hog Roast York provided. They even said ” The food itself was a real highlight, cooked to perfection and everyone went back for seconds. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them for any event – thank you for helping make our summer celebration such a success!”
