Latimer Congregational Church was Hog Roast Beverley’s destination on the first of the month, as we had been tasked with covering the catering at a 50th wedding anniversary party!
Elizabeth and Paul were the happy couple who hired us for this special occasion, and we felt very privileged to be included in their exciting celebration.
The pair commemorated their gold wedding anniversary surrounded by friends and family – many of whom they hadn’t seen in a long time – and our team had the honour of feeding all 75 attendees!
The festivities took place in the church’s designated event hall, and our Menu 3 was the feast of choice at this highly-anticipated gathering, which comprised of our signature hog roast with delicious sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, crispy crackling and gluten-free rolls with a mixture of home-cooked sweet potato and regular fries. Appealing to the taste buds of the veggie and vegan guests, the Hog Roast Beverley team had prepared our flavoursome BBQ-pulled jackfruit rolls with a plant-based coleslaw topping.
Before our team served the food to the ravenous guests using our sustainable wooden bamboo crockery with matching cutlery, the church’s priest said grace, which brought a lovely touch to the occasion.
Soon after, our catering managers, Chris and Kayleigh, began serving up the food to the guests – some of whom were extremely curious as they had never tried a hog roast before, while others didn’t even know what it was! Hog Roast Beverley was, of course, more than happy to introduce them to the age-old art of hog roasting, and we are delighted to say that the food went down a storm!
Elizabeth, Paul and their guests were blown away by the quality of the food, the beautiful presentation and the personable approach of our caterers, which added to the buzzing atmosphere. Those who had never tasted a hog roast before that day could hardly believe what they had been missing out on, while those who are more experienced with this cooking method expressed the opinion that Hog Roast Beverley’s hog roast was the best they had ever had!
