With wedding season in full swing, love is quite literally in the air right now. From engagement bashes and bridal showers to lively stag dos and long-awaited “I dos,” Hog Roast York’s calendar is packed to the brim with celebrations of love. And honestly? We’re loving every second of it!
One of our recent highlights? Ellie and Brandon’s stunning wedding at The National Centre for Early Music. Set in the beautifully restored and extended Grade I listed medieval church of St Margaret’s, this venue felt like something straight out of a fairy tale.
Ivy-wrapped stone pillars, twinkling fairy lights strung from the ceiling, candelabras, and huge stained-glass windows added so much character to this incredible space.
Chris and Kayleigh, our talented Hog Roast York duo, were the first to arrive on-site. And, after soaking up the scene, they jumped straight into action, prepping a mouthwatering feast for Ellie and Brandon’s 130 guests.
For their very first meal as newlyweds, the couple chose our Southern Slow Roast Menu – an epic spread featuring BBQ pulled pork butt, Cajun-spiced whole roasted chickens, tender pulled minted lamb, and veggie skewers with optional halloumi for the plant-based group.
On the side? A delicious combo of sweet potato and classic fries, gluten-free rolls, tangy potato salad with a pickly twist, and a zesty Greek salad piled high with juicy plum tomatoes, crisp cucumber, and crumbly feta.
As soon as guests poured into the dining hall, the aromas alone had them queuing up in no time. The presentation, the flavours, the variety – it hit all the right notes. Our team made sure every guest was served with a smile and treated to a generous helping of Southern-style comfort food.
But our work was far from over…
As evening rolled in, more guests joined the party! So, Hog Roast York was back at it, preparing another legendary spread. This time, we laid out an irresistible grazing table that had something for everyone: Italian deli meats, artisan cheeses, plump olives, crusty breads, sweet fruits – you name it. Suffice it to say, it didn’t take long for the table to be surrounded!
So, if you’re planning a wedding and want a feast that fits your vibe, budget, and taste buds, you know who to call. Hog Roast York is here to bring the flavour.
